Guest guest
DEAR , You aren't offending folks who feel they are " religious " ..at least not me-----I was not & I am very faithful person. I think that part of ME , isn't a part that should judge others . ..As far as the reading /seeing of those books-- I really believe it is not bad. One of my daughters is a READING teacher ...she feels , as well as her colleagues, -that is shows& allows person reading/seeing-- the very emotions, vocabulary, & enjoyment, that one should receive from BOOKS..(then movies for those that are made into them)..Reading all kinds of books is very healthy. Life isn't rosy & if " read " about, doesn't mean that any of that will happen. It is after all a fictional book. Those giving the books to the child , can explain, & I am sure any child who might be frightened .........would more than likely , see that for themselves, just looking at their lives.........I hope that those who don't like those types of movies don't go, & those that do , have a blast at them. I don't go to any scary movie, But I never even went to Star Wars either.......or war movies.. I enjoy , comedy/musicals/ & ones like ERIN BRECKENRIDGE , & Noddinghill...Sweetheart in Seattle...:):) Soooo, there is something for all of us. Glad your movies times & anniversary were so good. Besides, you would never offend anyone:) LOVE & HUGS, grandmomBEV. There were loads of kids in the cinema. No cried or had to be taken out. We didn't think it was any scarier, maybe darker as in more witchy stuff but not scarier. Nothing could fright us more than in the Philosophers Stone when that head jumps screaming out of the book. Liam finished the book the day before we went. Take her she'll love it. I think alot of 'religious' people get on the media bandwagon and try to put people of everything. Remember when the 1st one came out and people were trying to not let schools read it and take classes etc. to see it. Its fantasy and brilliant at that. (Adelaide) p.s. I don't mean to offend religious people, but you know what I mean the fanatics. HP & Chamber of Secrets Well, this post is completely un-CF related, but what the hey! I'm after some input from people who've seen " Chamber of Secrets " . I have given Sian a provisional - " You can go see the movie after you finish reading the book " . At the ripe old age of 6, she's half way through chapter seven. (She reads it when she's doing her nebs). Anyway, any opinions on whether it's too dark for a highly imaginative six year old? Much love, - Mum to Cate 10yrs wocf and Sian 6yrs wcf, asthma, GERD and ADD? Canberra Australia-
