The first time I went to see Dr. R, I asked him (at about 375ish) if it was

reasonable for me to hope to be under 200 lbs. He said yes! Feeling braver,

I said, " What about 175? " He said absolutely! So, I went for it, " You know

Dr. R, 150 would be REALLY sweet! " He said, it is not out of the realm of

possibilities. Now, in truth, I have lost much slower than I expected. 6

weeks post op and only 27 lbs. I thought because I was so big, I would lose

faster. I think I must have the metabolism of a snail and the real answer

for major weight loss for me is going to be exercise. It is a double edge

sword. I AM exercising more, but I must admit, it exhausts me. First water

aroebics class I came home and slept 5 hours. SO... I hang on to the hope

that as it cools off I will do more and that meantime I am doing more

activities than ever before. I just try to keep moving as much as I can.

The goal for me is going to be to keep losing. I doubt I will do anything

miraculous the first year, but if I can keep losing for 18 months or 2 years,

any thing is possible. No matter what, I AM getting healthier and extending

my life, and that my friend is what it is really all about for me!

Time to chant the " Denial Mantra " ! " No doesn't mean no. No just means they

need more information! " (Say it 10 times real slow, and once before you pick

up the phone next week!) Good luck!
