The first time I went to see Dr. R, I asked him (at about 375ish) if it was reasonable for me to hope to be under 200 lbs. He said yes! Feeling braver, I said, " What about 175? " He said absolutely! So, I went for it, " You know Dr. R, 150 would be REALLY sweet! " He said, it is not out of the realm of possibilities. Now, in truth, I have lost much slower than I expected. 6 weeks post op and only 27 lbs. I thought because I was so big, I would lose faster. I think I must have the metabolism of a snail and the real answer for major weight loss for me is going to be exercise. It is a double edge sword. I AM exercising more, but I must admit, it exhausts me. First water aroebics class I came home and slept 5 hours. SO... I hang on to the hope that as it cools off I will do more and that meantime I am doing more activities than ever before. I just try to keep moving as much as I can. The goal for me is going to be to keep losing. I doubt I will do anything miraculous the first year, but if I can keep losing for 18 months or 2 years, any thing is possible. No matter what, I AM getting healthier and extending my life, and that my friend is what it is really all about for me! Safe journey, MGB 03 MAY 00 Safely on the other side!!!! Guest guest
Time to chant the " Denial Mantra " ! " No doesn't mean no. No just means they need more information! " (Say it 10 times real slow, and once before you pick up the phone next week!) Good luck! O.
