Guest guest
Hi All, Well, Nurse Gail called me bright and early to let me know that " the matter " is now being sent to the Chicago " Grievance Dept. " Funny thing, my 2nd appeal letter was addressed to the SAME dept--their Ohio branch, as directed. So now our packet snakes its way to yet another area of Cigna. I got the name of the woman now in charge and learned that she will present our case to the Associate Medical Director. I guess Gail was not " high up enough " to approach him on this herself. I kept Gail on the phone long enough to explain the criteria needed to succeed at this level and she said at this point it will have to be deemed a " medical necessity. " When pressed by yours truly on the definition of such, she told me, " It's looking pretty positive, I see a lot of medical necessity here. " After pinning her down to a time-frame for resolution (a few days), I let the nice nurse go. So again we wait. In the meantime, tomorrow AM we meet with Chris' PCP to see if she will support us. The saga continues........ Regards, Debbie in IL Counting on Cigna for daughter (BMI 45) Ditto for Debbie (BMI 40)
