Guest guest
California is set to start screening using about 90 mutations some time this year; all of those with symptoms and or likely family history can be screened as well, and anyone can be referred to Quest Diagnos tics for a complete study of all the mutations. They will, as Colorado did, start with babies. Interestingly, in 1976, the usa Health, Education and Welfare Depart ment, as it was then called decided NOT to screen on the grounds that if all cases WERE identified, the nation could not afford the care! There you have it: we are cheaper dead than alive! Cheers and love to all at cfparents, n Rojas
