Guest guest
<<< ----- Original Message ----- From: Walt :Tuesday, November 12, 2002 1:43 PM: Anyone taking Metformin?>>> Walt, Do you take anyother meds for your sugar being high? I was on Glucovance and my insurance made it a non-formulary drug, so I can't take it unless I want to pay full price which I can't not afford. So mr doc put me on Glucotrol Xl 10mg and Glucophage in the generic form witch is the Metformin. These two meds when used together are supposed to have the same effect as the Glucovance. So far I'm not getting as good as control with the Glucotrol XL 10 mg and the Metformin. They have increased my Metformin to 3x a day. One with each meals. This is all I know about metformin. I have never heard of it used of for pain control. Call your local pharmacy and see who makes Metformin, I think it might be Bristo-Myers, Squibb Co. and get there phone number and call them to see how it suppose to help with pain control. If you find out anything on how it helps pain control, please let me know. Thanks. Take Care, Louie in WV
Guest guest
The glucovance comes in 5/500 and 10/500-sometimes the glucotrol needs to be 20-40mg a day to make it relatively equivalent since the 5 and 10 of the glucovance is equal to 10 and 20 mg of glucotrol- I'm a family practice doctor and I don't know of anyway that either of these would be helpful in pain management just high sugars Re: Anyone taking Metformin? to Walt > <<< ----- Original Message ----- From: Walt :Tuesday, November 12, 2002 1:43 PM: Anyone taking Metformin?>>> > > Walt, > Do you take anyother meds for your sugar being high?
