Guest guest
Hi, I am new to this board, but have been reading posts for a month now. We started our 3 yr old on SCD 7 days ago. He has ASD and is gf/cf. We aren't seeing any results so far. Our reason for trying this extreme diet is due too chronic diarrhea. We also do biomecial treatmets, but no chelation so far(yet)supplements mostly. We also follow the allcat allergy test we had done about five months ago. I am really struggling here, if anyone has any good advice I would be ever so grateful. Noelle, mom to 3 boys
Guest guest
I'm not familiar with that allergy test - is a blood or skin test? also, does it check for Immunoglobulin E (IgE) or IgG? It is my understanding that classical allergists consider only IgE reactions to be allergies. However, many of the reactions that cause inflammation to the gut are IgG, so if you haven't yet had IgG (which are considered sensitivities as opposed to allergies) checked, it's possible that you're giving your son some SCD-legal foods that he is sensitive to, and so are still causing gut inflamation and preventing healing. If you do have both IgE allergies and IgG sensitivities, and are avoiding those foods, and still not seeing results, then I suggest that in addition to doing SCD, you check out the " Trying Low Oxalates " yahoo group, and start reading those posts and seeing if that might be an issue with your son as well. The researcher who owns that group is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful to parents. Hope this helps, Marilyn leaky gut, low thyroid/adrenals, lots of allergies/senstivities, SCD 4 months RE: Digest Number 2110 > Hi, > I am new to this board, but have been reading posts for a month now.
