I use PubMed from the National Library of Medicine. It's free (at

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov:80/entrez/) for searches and abstracts, and it includes

all 11 million citations of MEDLINE plus selected older and broader

materials.

Full text is less easy to find at no charge. The medical journals still rely

on the antiquated reprint system, under which a physician writes to the

author and is sent a copy of the paper. This doesn't work at all outside

medical circles because the authors have often paid for their reprints, so

they can't share with all and sundry.

The best solution that I've found, so far, is to do a Google search for the

journal title. At the journal's website, there will often (but not always)

be an online archive of full-text articles, at least for the most recent

volumes.

Good luck with your search! As a medical editor, I'm pleased to have a

reason to delurk; I don't yet know enough about rosacea to make a

contribution to the discussion in other areas, but I am very grateful for

the archives. I've learned a great deal from all of you, and my face is

improving considerably because you shared your experiences.
