Our DAN! has suggested putting Elijah on Singular to block food

allergy/intolerance reactions. He has been on Periactin (an antihistamine that

the GI claims to increase hunger, but we believe it helps with food allergy) for

2 years now and with it he began eating enough to get off the g-tube. We have

tried getting him off Periactin but he always loses weight and meal time is more

difficult and slower than ever. As far as ASD, Elijah is doing great on SCD!

But he has only gained 1/2 pound and it has been 3 months. He is 4 lbs

underweight for his height (which also dropped off the chart a year ago) so this

is our main focus now. When we went off all IgG's almost a year ago he gained 3

lbs in 2 1/2 months, became allergic/sensitive to a bunch of new foods on his

diet and slowly lost 2 lbs. I'm sure he has become sensitive to the limited

foods in his diet and I believe he would be gaining if his reaction was blocked.

So, back to Singular. It comes in chewable tablets. Has anyone tried it

for food sensitivities? Is it SCD legal? I'm betting the tablets aren't but

anyone able to have it compounded? Also, she say the success is in giving 3x the

FDA approved amount! I don't know how comfortable I am with that. And I can

only imagine the expense since insurance would only cover the FDA approved dose.

I'm looking into NAET if anyone know someone good in CT. Can anyone recommend

anything else to help with food sensitivities?

Thanks,

Elijah, 3, ASD, very leaky-gut

a, 2 next month

All SCD 3 months
