Guest guest
and to all it may concern, IT is almost frightening how much you sound like us! Last spring, summer and fall we ate in a similar way that you just described...got some relief...created great hope....but guess what it was nothing compared to the SUCCESS we are having with a strict adherence to the SCDIET! We are on week three today, the entire family! We are starting to see a miracle in our children and in ourselves. I don't doubt for one minute that this is the solution after this last three weeks! Even as parents our behavior is better....as for reinforcer ideas......how a bout stickers (unlickable ones since they are not SCD safe) holding one another, hugging, laughing together and loving one another! Learning how to live again and enjoy one another's company at family outings! IT works as a great reinforcer! It doesn't have to be food anymore! We too have problems with peanuts, almonds and coconut...thanks to this list serve I now know why! Stick with us...they have so much to teach you! We are still learning so much....I now have had a huge dose of humility because I once thought I new it all.....what did I know? As for alternative help...we wait to see a DAN (couldn't be worked in sooner...go figure!) at the end of April.....by then I hope we don't need him that much by then. We just went bankrupt due to medical bills! AND what did we have to show for it....a SICK FAMILY and two kids being sucked into autism and ADHD, a daughter that is healing from cerebral palsy/hyperekplexia...a father who is getting relief from his ADD, and a mother who has neurological problems her self! Now we can heal with our grocery bill...a few supplements...and the FREE help from this wonderful list serve......what a trade off! Thank you Elaine!!!!! We will go to Disney Land with the money we SAVE! Antoinette and Family...go for it you have nothing to loose and everything to GAIN! (WEEK 3 entire family SCD/family history: Celiac Disease, Malabsorption Syndrome, Dermatitis Herpetiformis, Multiple Sensitivities and Allergies, Neurological problems such as ASD. ADD, ADHD and mental illness and so much more.....all seeing improvements...no other intervention but diet!) SCD ABA Reinforcer ideas? Hi All, Thanks for all the previous advice and answers to my questions... I was wondering about what SCDer's use as food reinforcers? Cameron's showing quite the sensitivity to peanut butter, almonds and coconut and we are currently avoiding dairy. I'm pretty sure all his current reinforcers have been contributing to yeast (green grapes, raisins and " honey candies " - almond rocca w/out the almond and subbing coconut oil for the butter). Any ideas/suggestions for other less sweet reinforcers for my sweet-toothed little guy? Lynn Mommy to Cameron 3.8 (ASD) 1st SCD attempt 26 days but had been giving illegal supps... 2nd attempt SCD 17 days and seeing IMPROVEMENTS! and Mia Jean 18 months (IgE allergies to milk and treenuts) - prepping for SCD For information on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet, please read the book _Breaking the Vicious Cycle_ by Elaine Gottschall and read the following websites: http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.infohttp://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/\ > and http://www.pecanbread.comhttp://www.pecanbread.com/>
