Hi guys!

I have been a lurker for several months and have never posted-I had a

lap rny on June 6th of this year. Dr. Michel Murr of Tampa General

performed my surgery along with Dr. Serafini-

I have not posted previously because I was always running around like

crazy-I work full (and more) time and go to college full-time and

have lots of interests so I would blow thru the posts and be on my

way!

Something kinda funny has happened without anyone actually knowing it-

I feel like I know so many of you and have never even talked to

anyone!!! I am the worst emailer in the world and have written to a

couple of people but by the time I go to respond it is kinda late!!!

No matter-before I had surgery I thought I would be a superwoman and

be back to normal right away-I even told my job I would be back one

week to the day of my surgery-talk about living in a fantasy world!!!

I am doing great-but there is more to major surgery than I ever

thought. I have decided to take at least a month off from work and

take it easy.

I feel like I need to get to know a lot of people who have had (or

want to have) this surgery because I now know that I can not do it

alone! I need and want the support of people like you guys who have

that special understanding of what we are going through! I would

especially love to know the local Tampa (and surrounding area) people

as I would like to be a part of support meetings, social stuff, and

who knows-maybe even a clothing exchange!!!

Thanks for being there every one of you!!! Talk to ya later!

Welcome to the list Tamara. I am a pre-op waiting for insurance approval,

but I wanted to welcome you. I lived in St. Pete during my teenage years

and for a little while after I was married. So I know the Tampa Bay area.

I'm in Tennessee now (where it's a little cooler!)
