Hi I am just studying for my end of year exam and came across this and wondered

why I hadnt thought of it sooner in regards to lowering Arachidonic acid

Ginger has anti inflammatory effects, being a dual inhibitor of arachidonic acid

metabolism. ie: it inhibits both cyclo-oxygenase and lipoxoygenase of the

prostaglandin and leukotriene biosynthetic pathways. If I remember well Garlic

and tumeric also do the same thing. Dont know if this is anything new to you

guys but thought it was worth a shot

Just thinking some thoughts out loud

I dont know if CF people have sore tummy problems but I am guessing they do as

the excess gas in their tummies would hurt. Getting them to drink carminative

and antispasmodic teas would really help. Peppermint is great but if prone to

reflux best not to use it. Instead use Chamomile, this is safe to drink freely

and is great for children. I use Camonile tea on Liam and he is only 8 weeks

old, he likes it which is good, it settles his tummy done well and also send him

to sleep as it has relaxant properties due to the essential oil in it

Another thing CF people seem to have more intestinal permiability thus causing

undigested foods to get into the blood stream and then causeing high IEG so

therefore prone to more allergies. Now a bark called slipperly Elm is great for

this problem, it helps to repair the gut lining decreasing the perimability and

soothes and is anti inflammatory in the gut. The cool thing about it as well is

it can be used for constipation and diarrhea one of those herbs that work both

ways which science cannot expain. Those are my favorite types of plants.

anyway better get back to studying I have such small gaps between Liams feeds

and doing the house work that I wonder if I am going to have enough time to

study enough, exam is in 2 weeks

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

HELP!!!

LOL

mum to baby Liam who is keeping me on my toes!!!
