Guest guest
Hey guys, The problem with grain feeding the last two months before slaughter is that it changes the omega 3 to omega 6 ratio...ruining it and making it not balanced the way we want it! You see it increases the fat or marbling of the meat (with fat)...making it taste " good " ...or so we think it is " good " . I know this because my father in law use to be a rancher. If you want true omega 3/omega 6 ratio...the animal CAN NOT BE FATTENED ON GRAIN, nor eat grain EVER. This is the problem we had looking for " good " meat high in omega 3'a....found some grass fed buffalo that they don't do this to....we think it tastes great ( a little different...... but since it is healthier will make the change!). It has a better Omega 3 to Omega 6 ratio, so is considered healthier. But I have also heard it can be very hard to get a good tasting grassfed meat.
