Guest guest
just got word that my insurance company, communitycare hmo of oklahoma, has denied my referral to dr. rutledge, saying he is out of network. (that doesn't mean they pay reduced costs, means they won't pay anything.) they had already approved my for open RNY with a doctor here in tulsa. anyone have luck overturning this kind of denial? i had submitted letter outlining medical benefits and differences between the two procedures (including cost), the big letter from dr. rutledge (i hand delivered a copy along with my letter to make sur they had on hand) and referral from my doctor. so i am not sure what else i can present on an appeal to change their minds. anyone else have luck overturning this type of denial? any advice?
