Hey I'm 20 yo male. I had bad acne through high school, tried every

cream/pill in the book, until I went on accutane for 5 months, which

did a really good job. I still get a pimple here and there, but no

big deal.

My latest problem is my nose. It's constantly red/oily looking.

Starting going to a dermatoglist, first put me on the metrogel, then

metro lotion. He then put me on desowen, but after searching through

this

board, I don't think I want to keep using that everyday if I

understand correctly.

My redness in the nose has been a problem for probaly 5-6 years now.

I bought some aloe vera lotion a few days ago, too early to tell if

it's working. Desown seems to be kinda working, but I don't like the

side effects ppl have talked about on here. He also gave me Clinac

O.C. to help reduce the shine, but that works only when it wants to,

and for a few hours at best. Anything I can buy otc to reduce the

shine on my nose? Surely women have something men can use.

My question -> I'm pretty sure I have some form of rosecea, this

redness in my nose isnt new, but everyone else seems to be older and

a worse case. I remember the redness after accutane being worse

before I went on it for some reason. I'm going to the dermatolgist in

a couple weeks, What should I ask to be put on? Do I have rosecea or

something similar? I've read good things about Elidel, and

just a few things about Tacrolimus, but not sure if that's out yet.

Thanks again for your help, I know this probaly gets redundant

answering newbie's question, but I have searched through the board,

and had justa few questions needing answers.
