Guest guest
Hi Gang: I had ETS a few days ago and am extremely pleased with the results so far. It's too soon to know all the effects, remember I just had it THREE days ago, but here is what I notice so far: My skin looks better than it has in years. It's closer to normal skin tone and cool to the touch instead of hot and red. It looks smooth and the pores have already shrunk a lot. I can take a really warm-almost hot shower without flushing. I'm still too afraid to try a hot, hot shower. I feel cooler all the time, which is fine with me I just get chilly easier and it takes a little more to get warmed up. I drank a hot cup of coffe without flushing My face does not react with redness when I wash it. My face just feels nice and calm; I guess normal. I have warm, dry hands. They used to be cold and clammy. I ate spicy indian food yesterday and had no flushing or irritation from it. My nose ran a little more than usual from the spicy food, but no big deal. I can blow my nose without it getting warm and red. So far absolutely no compensatory sweating or negative side effects. I still have a lot of other triggers to test, such as hot weather, stress, alcohol, exercise etc. So far I am extremely happy, but feel it must be too good to be true. It's as if I am expecting it to all come back like it always has. I just cannot believe it. I will keep you all posted of my progress, good and/or bad. Please remember, this surgery is not for everyone. It can have terrible side effects and should only be considered if all other therapies have failed. Please refer to Dr. Nase's book at www.drnase.com if you want to learn more about the surgery and it's potential benefits and side effects. Guest guest
I forgot to mention that a big reason I got the surgery is because I also had a lot of sweating from the hands. So, for me it was worth it to help both conditions. Some of you wanted to know if I had papules, swelling, etc and what effect ETS had on it. I had slight swelling and two or three papules before the ETS surgery. Both are gone now. Also, some wanted to know what Dr. performed the surgery. My surgeon does not recognize ETS as a surgery for rosacea, but remember I also had hand sweating so he of course performs the surgery for that. My hands were so cold and clammy before surgery and right after they are warm and dry. So wierd! The best part by far, though, is the improvement in my rosacea. That said, My surgeon was Dr. Blizzard of Oregon Health and Sciences University (OHSU)in Portland, Oregon. He is the only ETS surgeon in Oregon. He does clamping, not cutting. He clamped the T2 and T3 for my hand sweat and facial blushing/rosacea. If you just have rosacea, you would just clamp the T2 just beneath T1. Here is a link to another excellent ETS doctor, Dr. Neilson in San Texas. His site explains what ETS is. Dr. Neilson recognizes ETS surgery as beneficial for rosacea. He does cutting, not clamping: http://www.hyperhidrosisusa.com/ Dr. Reisfield is another good one. He is in California. To get an excellent view on ETS for rosacea from Dr. Nase, who also had the surgery, visit his website at www.drnase.com and order his book. It's the best book about rosacea you will find. It will do wonders for you and your rosacea. Most of my progress is because of that book. There are so many other things you can try before resorting to surgery and they are all in that book.
