Guest guest
Hey Keely and Lori, My dad is also a UF graduate. We lived in Gainesville from 1967-1970 while he finished his bachelors and masters degrees. I was born in Fort Myers (so was another sister that was born 354 days after me). We lived in Fort Myers three years before moving to Venice for three years, then Sarasota (where my youngest sister was born) before moving to Gainesville. My daughter wanted to go to UF but decided she didn't want to be that far from home. I haven't been back since '99; I'd go visit a good friend who lives in the Tampa/ area. We'd spend as much time as possible lounging under an umbrella with a book and wine coolers at Siesta Key and Indian Rocks Beach -- in-between shooing males away from our bikini clad, blond daughters! Kim Mom of (23 with cf and asthma) and (asthma no cf) > Keeley, First of all, I must correct one thing; I am a Gator and a UF graduate, as hs my husband. We most certainly do NOT cheer for FSU. (though my son does, traitor that he is). > > Send me your email address; I still haven't figured out how to get someone's address like Torsten told us. I want to know where you go to clinic. > > Keep up the breastfeeding; that is great that you are pumping. I breastfed Mycah for three years and I think it really made a difference in her health. > > Lori in Tallahassee > grosehsd@e... > - about salt > > > , > > The dietician at our CF center told us that breast milk was low in salt. She also said it was a " standard of care " to supplement them with salt until they were old enough to do it on their own. She said when they got older their body would tell them to add the extra salt and all we would need to do was make sure she had access to a salt shaker. Anyway, I am supposed to give 1/8 tsp. twice daily. I don't seem to be able to get that much in her, but I at least get her to take half of it. She has had the sodium levels in her blood checked and they went from low normal to normal with the supplements. You can have Liam checked next time he has his blood drawn to be sure. I also live in Florida, where it is very hot and babies sweat alot. We may need to supplement here more then you do depending on your temperatures. > > Keeley > mom to Leila, 4m. wcf, and Hadley, 2.5 yrs. nocf > > >
