On my last visit to my dermo he sugggested I could try the Nicomide

vitamin/mineral supplement for acne if I wished. He said it might help with

my redness and occasional pimple/pustule breakouts. I told him I'd give it a

try.

So far, I notice a definite improvement after taking it. My face is usually

always ruddy looking, and about an hour after taking Nicomide the redness

fades. I was a little concerned when I first started since I heard that

nicotinic acid and it's derivatives can aggravate the flushing, etc. So

far, so good, though. I'll keep everyone posted as I continue use of this

preparation. My only concern is that my dermo said I can't take other

vitamins while taking Nicomide. I'd guess I'd be getting a double wammy of

niacin and perhaps folic acid, since most other vitamin products contain

these. I've read that too much niacin can play havoc with the liver. I hope

I can find a vitamin that doesn't contain the same ingredients as Nicomide.

On another note, I've given up on the cea Care products. They all stung

my face when I used them and my complexion became worse. The only think I'm

using now is the Plexion wash, the Nicomide once a day, and Este Lauder's

Idealist and their 100% Time Released Moisture Lotion. These last two items

feel great on my face and help even out my skin tone and keep it moisturized

all day long. Good stuff, though a bit pricy.

Kind regards to all...

Mike

I take Niacinamide, which is the only kind of non-flushing Vitamin B3

(250 mg.) I can find otc, and it has really helped with my skin too.

On a side note, I think I'm going to try Idealist by Estee Lauder

too. It is a bit pricey. I buy Estee Lauder products for a discount

from their outlet which is called The Cosmetics Company Store. I

don't know if they carry Idealist, but I have seen a couple of their

skincare products there. I plan to go to one of the stores in early

to mid April. If I see Idealist there, I'll let the group know. If

anyone is interested in going to one of these discount centers, they

are located in quite a few places across the US. Here is the url to

their locations:
