allergic reaction or flare

Hey group,

I have been having a terrible reaction to any form or alcohol. Mind

you, I've had rosacea for many years and have never reacted with such

severity. As soon as I drink ANY kind of alcohol, and it only takes

3 sips, my face swells and certain areas turn beet red.I can

actually feel the heat and fluid filling my face. I immediately take

a couple of Zyrtec, drink tons of ice water and after about an hour I

am back to normal( whatever normal is these days.) The rest of my

body is uneffected.

I have an appt. with my allergist in a week, don't know what she's

going to test me for, but I'm so perplexed.

Three weeks ago I had dinner out, drank a ton of white wine and had

no adverse effects. Why all of a sudden? Is this an allergic

reaction or an old fashioned flare?

I guess I should mention that I control my R with Protopic and

Noritate. I have a severe allergy to BUCKWHEAT, how weird is that!!,

but no other allergies that I know of.

Any info would be appreciated!
