Guest guest
Hi & thanks everyone for the education, 2.5 y/o ASD son, SCD (except intro diet) for 3 mos. 1. would the intro diet serve it's purpose if we did turkey pancakes (chicken pancake recipe) with just egg whites? food sensitivity tests reveal problems with chicken & egg yolk (among other things that are scd illegal). the pancake idea is really our only option for the intro diet given our picky eater. if he doesn't go for those were planning on him surviving off bananas for 2 days if that's what is recommended we do. otherwise, could we personalize the intro diet to include nut flour & butter that the food sensitivity results show he's fine with? since we know he'll eat those items. generally, is it still an effective intro diet & serve the original purpose if you tailor it to personal food issues? (we used the computerized food sensitivity test. 90%accurate reportedly) 2. does having small nut pieces in a very soft/mushy stool mean it's undigested eventhough he has nut flour & nut butter at least 3xs/day? we didn't learn that soft stools were possibly abnormal until recent postings which is why we had orginally thought we could skip the intro diet thinking he doesn't have any apparent GI issues. although he leans on his chest on hard surfaces but doesn't seem to have discomfort. (?) 3. he also occasionally turns red & really needs to push & once in a long while has a smaller harder " plug " BM before the large amount comes out. do these signs officially count as constipation? 4. would you expect it to be less likely that you would experience die off symptoms if you skipped the intro diet? 5. would the yogurt be a suitable replacement for nystatin? it seems likes it best to wait a few months on the diet before doing the yogurt which is why we haven't tried it yet, but nystatin was prescribed last month. background info: daily nystatin, past CLO, 1-2 bouts of major constipation a year or so ago, occasional epsom salt baths, red rashes on cheeks a year ago, & current pimply cheeks, shoulders & thighs. generally seems to becoming more attentive & engaged in his environment but no real significant changes in either a positive or negative reaction. just starting to work with a DAN dr & get lab work back which shows candida & other yeast & bacteria problems. thanks for any replies. ginnie
