Guest guest
Adam: I too had a bad allergic reation to Zithromax. In fact, I had not had any rosacea at all until I was prescribed Zithromax for sinus infection last December. About two hours after taking the first and only dose my whole face became bright red, burning and very swollen. I called my doctor and he said that I was having an allergic reaction and not to take another dose. My face stayed in very bad condition for about four days. After one month I was still having some red spots, itching, swelling. My doc diagnosed rosacea and I began taking Doxycycline and using Metrogel as well as Ketoconazol for my seb/derm. Now all redness has been gone for several weeks. My face is looking good other than just a little seb/derm. I'm still taking the Doxycycline and would like to get off it but am afraid the rosacea will come back.
