Guest guest
Hi to all. I am going to my docs tomorrow with a view to finding out (ie confirmation!) that I have rosacea. Typical to what most of you have posted. I have followed your digests for the past month and am totally confused by all the medications/natural products recommended/not recommended. Firstly, are any of you from Britain? I get the impression that most of the postings originate from the States so presume that most of the medications will be different over here. Have started using 99.9% pure Aloe Vera gel on my face for the past week. Makes my skin feel very dry (I have very dry skin anyway) so I then put E45 cream on it (this is an aqueous based cream - not sure if you have it in the US?) My biggest problem is the summer/heat/wind/post exercise. I also get lumps under my skin which are really itchy and if I scratch makes the redness worse and also takes off my make up! I use Revlon All Day Moisturising Foundation which is really good at coverage and seems okay for my skin. I set it with powder to keep the redness hidden. I have absolutely no idea what I should do for the best and suppose that I should await my doctor's diagnosis. The reason I am quite certain that I will get a result from him is that my chemist (two doors down from the doctor) who handles the medication for my son's meds, also suffers from rosacea and he was the one who pointed out the condition to me. Well, from the sound of it, a lot of the group has been posting for years. Hopefully you will accept a newcomer from England who enjoys the banter and advice and follows fervently in the hopes that we all rid ourselves of this blight!! Wish me luck for tomorrow Sue
