Guest guest Posted February 10, 2002 Report Share Posted February 10, 2002 I'm a new member having been diagnosed with rosacea last week. I have had symptoms for about 6 weeks. I have a lot of facial swelling as well as the redness. Does the swelling always accompany the flushing? Will it go a way with treatment? My face is so swollen that I look as though I have Cushings syndrome. I am using Metrogel. So far I've seen no results. How long does it usually take for the Metroget to start working? Also, the itching and stinging is really bad. Will oral antihistamines help the itching? I'm 57 yrs , four years post bone marrow transplant for acute leukemia. I though at first that the rash was part of graft versus host disorder but my doc assures me that it is in fact rosacea.
