Guest guest Posted June 3, 2002 Report Share Posted June 3, 2002 Trackgalcal, first confirm that you are taking the doxycycline at the same time each day (to maintain a constant blood level) and are avoiding ingesting dairy and minerals (vitamins, antacids) within two hours before and after. Assuming that's the case, and your eyes aren't better by the end of the week, I think it's reasonable to give your eye doctor or family physician a call and discuss increasing the dose. Ten days should be long enough, but even on full dose it may take several weeks before you " see " a good improvement. You should; ocular rosacea is quite responsive to oral antibiotics, but not immediately. (Be careful with the sun, on any dose of Doxycycline skin becomes more photosensitive.) Good luck.
