Guest guest
Hi Rhonda, Keep in mind these are just my opinions based on what different health care practitioners have said to me over the last 25 yeaars. My husband uses SuperEPA, which is a trademarked product. We purchase ours from Allergy Research Group/Nutricology. This product contains double the amount of EPA and DHA compared to most marine lipids. If your child is having diarrhea from Metagenics product, this may not be any better. Here's where my opinion part comes in. I, at one time, was a patient of Dr. Leo Galland who is mentioned in the foreward of Dr. Gottschall's book. He told me that in looking at his patient population, 15% are deficient in omega 6 fatty acids and 85% are deficient in omega 3 (marine is omega 3). Fish oil is immensely helpful to my husband, but makes me absolutely miserable. I fall into that 15% category and cannot function without my evening primrose oil (omega 6). If you really feel your daughter is fatty acid deficient you might want to take a look at Dr. Galland's book " SupperImmunity for Kids " which will give you some suggestions on how to figure out which if any fatty acids your child is deficient in. If this does not appeal to you, you might want to consider asking your daughters doc to do an Essential and Metabolic Fatty Acid Analysis (RBC) at Great Smokies Lab. That's more info. than you asked for, but perhaps it will be helpful.
