Guest guest
Well, after one false alarm (at first we thought he'd be home the day before), Ricky came home yesterday. I wasn't able to escape work until about 3:30 p.m., so at that point I went to get him. Would you believe he was napping when I got there, and didn't want to wake up? This did give me time to go over the discharge paperwork with the nurse and pack up the remainder of Ricky's stuff (I took most of it home already) and then he woke up and got dressed and we were outta there! He is still a bit wheezy and coughing, but I'd say it's still a huge improvement over how he was before. They've also added on a whole bunch of new meds after he had near bowel blockage over the weekend (yow!). He's also going to be on Prednisone (steroid) for a while, tapering off until the wheezing goes away, and a medication to treat possible fungus in his lungs (which may have caused this whole problem). Andy and I are both glad to have him home, and Ricky is glad to be home and sleeping in his own bed. Before I go I want to thank all of you who sent emails, cards, gifts, and well wishes, and especially those who visited him. You really made his visit easier! Now we are going to get busy with birthday plans (5 days to go). I can't believe he's almost 7 already!
