Guest guest
Greetings to the group. I am brand new to this group and have been researching the use of the scd diet (I've read btvc and read postings here and in other groups and on the various scd devoted web-sites) for my husband who suffers a great deal from his always active and flaring Crohn's disease. I tried to start him on the diet on Friday, but he felt he could not tolerate the lack of starch because he has no gall bladder, and therefore has an extreme amount of bile released to his compromised intestines (he has had 3 bowel resections). Also, he insists that some of his medication (entocort/budensonide) need to be taken with starch. If anyone has dealt with this, or a similar problem, I would be most grateful to learn of some alternatives. I guess what I am really trying to find out is, is it possible that someone is so surgically compromised that the scd diet won't help them? Please feel free to email me personally if you feel that this topic is not of wide enough interest to warrant a thread in the group. Thanks in advance, Bry
