Guest guest
Hi Dory, I can def. commiserate with you. We need high cal for - cf, low carb, low fat, mod. protein for me - type 1 diabetic, low carb for my husband and my 7 year old has sensory integration dysfunction whereby if he eats a texture or flavor that he cannot tolerate, he gags and throws up (his diet is very, very limited and I am always trying to expand it - mostly protein and starches to date). I HATE dinner time. Strangely enough I love to cook; however that is a challenge. I tend to make one meal and adapt to ea. person via the plate. You are not alone and I wish you patience. Guest guest
Our family can relate to this one, too. High fat, hi carb, high protein for the kids with CF (3), then Mollie, our 9 yo has juvenile (type 1) diabetes, so we add that to the mix.....of course, mommy and daddy shouldn't eat all that high fat stuff, lol.....fortunately, it hasn't hurt my other three without CF, who tend to be on the low end of weight still.... our 8 yo without CF is still the skinniest one in the house, CF kids included.... I know when we take Mollie to diabetes clinic they always seem to worry that we are feeding her a CF diet. we tell them over and over that we are not but since it is same dieticians I guess they just worry. She is pretty skinny, too....though if you ask me all the carbs we have to feed her due to the diabetic diet and all the snacks she gets bc of the insulin are giving her quite a belly.... take care Jen mommy of 7 > Hi Dory, I can def. commiserate with you.
