Guest guest
My sister sis 24 and she had been told she had chronic pancreatitis. Now this other doctor is not so sure. This is the second time she has had pancreatitis and this bout has lasted almost 4 months. She has lost a baby, she has lost 30 lbs, and she is back in the hospital again as of yesterday. Now we are praying they will get her into the University of Michigan for more testing. So far the ERCPs, cat scans, and MRI have shone that her pancreas has no type of damage whatsoever. So, I am not sure why she was told she had chronic pancreatitis and now they are changing their tune. The reason I am so upset is because I spend a lot of time talkin to people at the hospital in Minnesota regarding the autoislet surgery. This GI doc my sis has now said there was no such kind of surgery and said that pancreatectomys were almost never done. She was very skittish about the whole discussion. Anyhow, I would like opinions and info from those who have opinions on the autoislet surgery for pancreatitis in case my sis does have the chronic kind. Thank you so much for your time and God bless.
