Guest guest
Can someone who has had the islet cell procedure and had the pancreas removed by Dr, Sutherland please answer this post. What is your personal opinion of Dr. Sutherland. Does he listen to all that you have to say. Does he answer all questions. Does he have a good bedside manner. Does he treat you with respect. Does he truly possess the attitude that he wants to help people or does he act GOD like. I received an email from him yesterday and he told me to call his office and schedule a consultation. I want to do that but before I go spending huge amounts of money I want to know as much about the procedure and him as possible. I recently was going to a GI who was so great in the office when I went for my visits. I swore that he wanted to truly help me. I drove 200 miles one way to go to my appts. Then I had an attack and he convinced me to go to the hospital by him. I made the long horrible trip in terrible pain with the understanding that I was a direct admit when I got there, etc. . . Well, when I finally got there no one knew anything about me. He spoon fed my pain medication and I sat in the hospital for 1 one week never really totally out of pain. His bedside manner was horrible. I don't ever want to go through that again. My current GI who was my original GI 5 years ago said this procedure is bogus and I would be making a big mistake. He said the diabetes could kill me before the pancreatitis would. So please help me to tell me as much about the procedure as you know and as much about Dr. Sutherland as you can. Thanks in advance Ihnow
