The reason I mention my dad is because his form or cea affects the skin around his eyes. One time the flareup got so bad that his eye was constantly tearing for 2 days - nonstop. Anyhow, after doing research for my cea and sharing the info with him, he realized that chocolate is one of his triggers. As far as the eye swelling, I would tend to think that it's a cea flare up caused by some trigger - in your case it could be chocolate, sunlight, etc. I hope this helped a bit. - cea, I think. I am new to this group and would really appreicate some advice from the experts... you. It started about 3 years ago. My eyes completely dried out and the skin around my eyes was burning. Of course, I was sent from doctor to doctor. Over time more of my skin started burning and my complexion became more ruddy looking (bigger pores). I have used minocyn but it has not helped much. Two dermatologists have told me that I do not have rosacea and one has told me that I do. My opthamologist told me that I do have ocular rosacea. Also, what is most disturbing is that in the sunlight, the skin directly under my left eye swells up quite a bit (so much so that I now have a permanent line there). I can't eat dairy at all any more, or chocolate or a lot of sugars. The allergist tells me that I am not allergic and won't even bother testing me. My skin is super, super sensitive. Can anyone tell me what they think is going on, especially with the eye swelling. Thank you so much.
