Hi ,

She was constipated for a few days, had what she thought was an

attack, so we went to the hospital. I believe it was a combination

of Xray with her drinking a contrast solution. Where the contrast

stopped on the xray revealed the location of the blockage.

Removal is done by ERCP.

All of her normal signs of a pancreatitis attack were apparent,

except for the pain going all the way through to her back.

Once they removed the bizoar, she was fine and went home within a few

hours.

HIya

A Blockage is what I had and I had 2 giant enemas in the ER which

didnt work . They then xrayed me found the whole system was blocked

up terrible so I was admitted. They gave me 2 lots of pico prep

which I will never have again. I actually went in cos I had pain in

my lower abdomen.

needless to say the Pico prep caused sever stomach contractions. I

ended up in hsoiltal these only partially worked followed by more

enemas daily given to me.

I ended up on a pain pump an epidural and a feeding tube all from

cosntipation that I reckon had gone on for a year . I was only goign

about 2 times a week and then that was with all the different

preperations I was takign as well nothign worked.

Uptake of this was I ened up in hsopital for 43 days so this is what

can happen from constipation severe. I now take ducolax and coloxyl

and senna daily as well as enemas if I havent gone each day as I

enver want to go back there again and yes My mum nags me and told me

off she again was right

take better care of yourself and never let that happen to you

again . I can still hear her grin

debs

> thanks for the info. They kept me in the hospital one time when I

had what I thought was an attack but the enzymes were normal. They

said my colon was packed. They did an enema and then I think mag

citrate after that. I guess I didn't actually have a blockage or

the enema and stuf wouldn't have worked. They did an x-ray that

night and that's how they found my colon was packed. Seems like

they did a ct scan the next day. I had to drink some junk before

it. The thing is that I didn't even feel constipated and had even

gone to the bathroom earlier that day. It was pretty embarrassing

having an enema in the ER and having to go on a portable potty.

Since then I've made more of an effort to make sure I go regularly.

> I have had many episodes of the same pain with normal enzymes. My

GI says that's cause my problem is being caused by adhesions which

sometimes block the flow of bile to the point of irritating the

pancreas and liver, sometimes just enough to irritate the liver and

sometimes just enough to cause severe pain. I am scheduled to see a

surgeon for removal of the adhesions on Dec 4th.

wife as I understand it can be quiet serious.
