Dear Lori,

As far as my stomach problems go I am doing much better. I can eat pretty

much whatever I like but only a few bites at a time. I have noticed my

weight creeping back up past 175 so I am going to have to really keep a

close eye on that. I can mostly tell in the way my 10/12 clothes are

fitting.

My balance and weakness problems have diminished and overall I can do more

without becoming totally winded or exhausted but my migraines have gotten

worse and more frequent requiring bed-rest. My neurologist thinks part of

the increase in number and severity are hormonally related because I am

peri-menopausal, but the medications used to treat hormone imbalances

generally make migraines worse so I'm in a Catch-22 situation. I'm still

trying to locate some tea tree oil that someone recommended. I can't find

it in Lenoir but will check with Hickory stores.

Thanks for inquiring.

The main problem I am having now is a bout of depression which I cannot seem

to shake. Given the choice I would just stay in bed all day. I can't seem

to get motivated to do anything....I am in between family physicians so will

need to find a new one and/or let the neurologist I'm seeing treat those

issues. I'm already taking Remeron but it doesn't seem to help much.

Overall my health seems better but I am once again having problems with

edema in my feet and legs so I've had to start back on the Aldactone.

Maybe if I can get the depression under control I'll have a better outlook.

Also, on May 22 I had foot surgery to correct a " hammer toe " so have been

limited (even if I was motivated to do much) in what exercise I can do until

the bandages come off and the steel pin is removed in a few weeks.

My hair which had been growing back has stopped for now and I have seen some

thinning/breakage so I don't know if my protein levels are OK or not. I am

trying to find someplace that sells Nioxin products which are supposed to

really help with thinning hair.

Rather than clog up the MGB pre-op list by sending a " blanket " reply to all,

if anyone wants a copy of " Dying To Be Thin " , my journal detailing my 18 +

months of life after MGB and the reversal e-mail me privately

psgreer@... and I'll forward a copy.
