Guest guest
Hi! We have been SCD for about 10 days or so. My son has been ill since, roughly, the beginning. I have four theories and would appreciate any feedback. He is slightly red in the cheeks, little sinus involvement, queasy stomach, very low fever, some malaise. Still going to school, and able to focus etc.. Today, since he has a physical for tennis, I may let him stay home for the whole day and take a break. Otherwise, he would be going to school. He is not spacey (past experience with salicylate overload--lights on and nobody home) nor irritable, as when gluten or casein slipped through. My theories: Virus (he rarely gets ill, but does occasionally) Die Off/diet adjustment (Yeah!) Allergy to walnuts Some salicylate etc. involvement Ben is now off of the autism spectrum. The only new food we haved added (taken plenty away) is walnuts, which I am removing today. He has one fruit smoothie per day (this is new) with strawberries, apple cider, pineapple juice (mixed with ice, not pure juice, to fill a glass after it has been whipped) The rest of his diet is variations on what he used to eat, with no reactions, that was basically GFCF. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I am getting a bit concerned. Thanks! Lorraine
