prescription assistance

Can someone please send me any links, addresses, or phone numbers you may have

for prescription assistance?

My sis-in-law's mom has recently been diagnosed with primary pulmonary

hypertension. They have begun a treatment program with medication that will

hopefully extend her life expectancy from less than a year to 3-5 years. The

medication is $6000 a month. Her insurance will pay 80% of that cost and she

has managed to get assistance to pay the other 20%. However, the 80% that her

insurance is paying for this one med has used up all the prescription coverage

she has, so that means she has to pay for all her other meds. I just talked to

my sis-in-law and she said the meds they prescribed when she last left the

hospital were over $200. This lady is also a diabetic and we all know those

meds and supplies can get expensive. This is a woman that worked full time her

entire life and raised three kids on her own without even child support. She

was working when diagnosed with the PPH even though her body was so filled up

with fluid that I have no idea how she was surviving. She has now retired only

because she had no choice. I'm sure her retirement and SS are not a large sum,

but she is making it - barely. My sis-in-law got fired from her job because of

missing so much work. She is the only one that can be with her mom when she has

to go to the hospital, doctor, etc. She said she has to go to her mom's every

day and that it takes an hour just to mix her medications. As you can imagine,

my sis-in-law and her hubby are in no position to help her mom financially with

the recent loss of income they have suffered.

If anyone is deserving of financial help with their meds, it is this poor lady

who has worked so hard her entire life.

Thanks,

W
