I was looking through some old posts the other day and came accross one ,

It's from Patty and she said she is on the low arginine diet. I looked it up

in the " natural Health Bible " and found the following. " The body also uses

arginine to make nitric oxide, a substance that releases blood vessels " I

t has been proposed as a treatment for various cardiovascular disease.

Small double blind studies suggest that arninie may be helpful for the

treatment of seemingly unrelated conditions that are, in fact , all linked by

arginine's effects on nitric oxide " Patty if you read this can you

please let us know more about the diet. I did a search for it and found very

little on it and only a sample menu for one day.

I just avoid foods that are particularly high in arginine: Nuts,

seeds, geletin, chocolate, cola. A little is ok. I just dont go

overboard. It has really helped a lot. I used to get flares in my

cheeks and nose. Now my nose does not flare anymore and my cheeks

are a bit better. Wierd. I'm not sure if its the arginine or just a

coincidence. Perhaps I'm just allergic to nuts. The arginine theory

seems to make sense, though.

I am also better if I keep a diet high in meats, veggies, fruits and

low grains/carbs.
