Guest guest
Hey everyone! I got kicked in the butt at about 3:30 this morn! All hell broke loose! Horrible pain, nausea and vomiting bile. I took my break- through MSIR and a compazine but soon lost those. I then used a phenergan supp., but to no avail.I literally pulled out all of my ammo, but ended up in ER anyway. I got my usual cocktail of 100 Demerol and 25 of phenergan. 30 min. later, 1/2 a bucket of bile! So they gave me another shot of phenergan which thank God, did the trick! The Dr. came in and said that my A&L were normal (surprise!), my liver enz. were normal also. My WBC was elevated as was my CALCIUM! He then wanted to admit me but I told him that as long as my pain & nausea were under control, I would be ok to go home. The Dr then asked me if my GI or PCP ever talked to me about " burn-out " ! I told him no, but that I'd heard alot about it recently. I thought only CP's with partial panc. could burn-out. What's going on here? What's with the calcium and what role does it play? Any answers would be greatly appreciated. Pain & nausea are under control for now, just weak, so I'm doing my tube feedings for some nourishment. God's blessings to you all!
