Hello, all.

I just wanted to share my news. I finally got up the nerve to e-mail

Anne Marie with Dr. Sutherland's office re: info on the auto islet

transplant/pancreatectomy. I feel empowered right now! I talked to

my manager about my upcoming surgery, and, when I told him of this

procedure, he encouraged me greatly to just do it. He asked me that

question, " What do you have to lose, ? You're having surgery

that's going to keep you out of work for a while - and you still

might not be better! " So, I did. I just want to say a special

thanks to Shirley and Gail, whose e-mails I never deleted with all of

this info on it re: the surgery. Thanks for caring enough to send me

all of this good information, as well as just caring in general.

Also, to the rest of you wonderful people, I feel as though you are

an extension of my family now. I know I'm being sappy right now

(might be the meds), but I truly feel so happy to have become a

member of this group! It's funny how sending one e-mail makes a

person feel so high (no pun intended). I just feel like I'm taking

charge. Nothing may come from this, who knows, but I'm just glad to

have had the information to do it - without you guys, I wouldn't have!
