Guest guest
When my adult child with cystic fibrosis was young, the saga went some thing like this (kid has fever of 102.8, gasping and wheezing and tummy pain): Kid: Mama, I have a SWIMMING MEET TODAY! Mom: you have a doctor appointment TODAY! Kid: Mama, I have a basketball tournament TOMORROW! Mom: you have a doctor appointment TODAY! Kid: Mama, don't you get it, I have all these meets, tournaments and games coming up. I CAN'T GET SICK NOW! Mom: YOU ARE SICK NOW AND YOU HAVE A DR. APPOINTMENT IN ABOUT AN HOUR AND WE ARE GOING! Kid: Is Papa coming, too? Mom: YES, PAPA IS COMING, TOO! result: silence. . .and compliance! UNTIL THE NEXT TIME, THAT IS! n Rojas
