Should I go to dermatologist?

I just signed up here and have read countless posts....let me state

my history.

I always had clear skin and barely any acne thoughout my teenage

years until I was put on levothroid for underactive thyroid. That

was about 6 years ago. Slowly but surely I started getting redness

on my cheeks that wouldn't go away, and dry skin on the cheek, nose,

forehead, and chin that I never experienced before. Of course my

doctor quickly dismissed my medication or my thyroid as the cause and

referred me to a dermatologist who spent half a minute with me and

said I had exema for which he precribed an oral antibiotic and about

five years worth of some crap ointment. At the time I was also

seeing an allergist who told me what I had was rosacea and told me to

throw the ointment away because it would hurt my skin and not help

it. I then saw another dermatologist who scared the hell out of me

by testing me for lupus initially. I thought I was going to die.

Then when that came up negative he too said it was rosacea and gave

me Metrogel. I took it for awhile and saw improvement, then stopped

due to lack of money to pay for the stuff. It's been about 5 years

since I've sought any type of treatment.

Thought my rosacea is what I would call mild, it has gotten worse

slowly over time. I now get allot of what I think are pustils around

my mouth and on my cheeks often. I also have a couple clear bumps

near my under-eye area that never produce puss or heal. I've tried

Kelp, Primrose Oil, Vitamin C, as well as Cetaphil soap. All work ok

but none correct the redness that never leaves.

So, in everyone's opinion should I try for the third time to see a

dermatologist? I'm not really into being on tons of pills since I am

already taking birth control, levothroid, allegra D, and three

inhalers. But I feel like I need to do something to try and correct

some of these symptoms.

Anyone's help is greatly appreciated.

Ally
