Guest guest
Hi Kim, First, are you also giving your child Methyl B12? If so, stop and then try the DMG or TMG again. They are all methylators but you should not give them at the same time. If you aren't using MB12, then I suggest you try that (with folinic acid or folic acid) instead of the DMG/TMG. There are many ways to boost methylation and these are just some of the options. Which one works all depends on which pathway is broken in your child. The only way to know that for sure is by genetic testing. Unfortunately, the lab used by Dr. Amy Yasko seems to be the only one capable of performing the necessary genetic tests. I have heard it takes a long time to get results back from that lab and some have complained of the lab's unreliability (not sure what that means, though). If you want to study the methylation cycle, I believe you can find some useful diagrams on the Yasko website, www.autismanswer.com. They look very complicated but if you study them a while you will have a better understanding of the whole thing. Good luck.
