Guest guest
Margie, Where you able to take the pain medication given to you in the ER without any allergic reactions? If so, you might see if your primary doc would give you a prescription for those until you can get some relief from this pain. I also suggest that you restrict yourself to clear liquids and lots of water only, until the pain subsides. If you have to eat, the easiest things to digest would be baby food fruits and desserts, or simple foods like applesauce, oatmeal, no fat pudding and jello (if you can actually call jello a food....:-). This will give your pancreas a chance to rest and should help to reduce the pain. You might also call back the GI's office and ask them if they will call you first if they have any cancellations prior to your appointment on the 5th, or ask your PCP's office to call and see if you couldn't get an " urgent " appointment due to the severe problems you're having right now. I hope some of these suggestions help, and that you have some relief soon. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth South Carolina Southeastern Representative Pancreatitis Association, Intl. I have not had a Ct Scan yet. Because of heart problems I was put on a heart healthy diet about a week and a half ago which is no cholesterol, low fat and no salt diet. Also I now had a 3rd attack early Saturday morning and had to go back to the ER ......did give me a prescription for 12 of them. Right now I cannot even get in to see a GI Doctor until Nov. 5th So I went in to get the referral from my primary doctor and left a message asking what they expected me to do until then since now even eating is making this worse. The pain is coming unbearable and I am allergic to about every pain med there is Any suggestions? Margie
