It has several different special of organisms, supposedly some are for the lower intestine and some or specific to the upper intestine. And they are enteric coated so that they stay alive until they reach the right spot. Supposedly they are standardized for a specific number or organisms per gram, though they must remain refrigerated. Of course non of this is really for certain, so that's why I titrate the dose as necessary.
