Hi ,

I know exactly where your coming from. I did exactly what your doing working in

pain with pancreatitis for 8 years. Then finally I was in the hospital and

still in allot of pain when I was getting out after 5 days in there and my

husband said that was it. I had to give up my job that I loved. I was worried

on how we would make it, as we had came to depend on my salary along with his.

But he told me he couldn't watch me any longer going and coming home to work

everyday in so much pain. Most days when I got home I would fix dinner and be

too sick to eat, then go to bed. I was living on pain pills and felling like I

was in a fog at work most of the time. Well to make a long story short. I cried

allot at first and talk to my doctor and when my husband told him of his

discussion he agree with him and they both suggested that I apply for my SS. I

got all my medical records together and applied and got it on my first try,

which I hear is unusual.

I have a few other things wrong too that helped. My neurologist wanted to file

for it in 83, when I was having so much trouble with my migraines, but I felt

that I couldn't be off work for 6 months with no income coming in then. My

children were much younger then. I did eventually have experimental surgery on

my head for my migraines that did help, but they quite doing it now. I later

found out that I was the only one to have problems from it, but at least it did

help. Maybe you should rethink you decision and reapply for you disability.

This is a very hard discision to make. It sounds like you not getting any

better and you're really pushing yourself to make it to work everyday. I just

wanted to let you know that I know where you're coming from and you not alone.

Take Care,

Louie in WV

Re: , ON working in pain!

Louie,

See my post with the subject " " . I am doing a little better today.

It may come to the point where I have no choice, also, but for now I'm going to

hang in there a bit longer. I have no doubt that my disability from work would

be approved more because I have systemic lupus (which is on SS's list of

disabling disorders) than because of the panc. However, we could no possibly

manage without at least part of my income for the 4 months it would take to get

it approved. I know everyone has their own poblems but we have two kids in

college and my income is about 60% more than my husband's. If it came down to

it and I absolutely was unable to do it, we'd have to make it somehow, but for

now I cannot do that to my family.

Thanks for the support and understanding. I made it through 10 hours

yesterday. This is Wednesday. Only two more days after today!
