Guest guest
Hello all, I've been reading everyone's posts with great interest and have learned a great deal here - thanks (especially to Marjorie for all her wonderful advice). I have had my second flare up of rosacea recently, for which I am taking tetracycline (500mg daily). It wasn't so much the face that bothered me as much as my red, irritated, dry eyes. The drops which the eye specialist gave me didn't do any good at all (Zaditen, used for allergies), and the only thing that's helped is Colbiocin which is another tetracycline antibiotic (cream or drops). It all seems to be clearing up now, after a month, but what I am worried about are the veins which you can see under my eyes (on top of the bags I have there!! Not a pretty sight), and I am worried that as soon as I stop the antibiotics, my eyes will flare up again. What I would like to know is if any of you have dark skin and have had any sort of treatment for the dilated veins on the face, as I am partly Asian and my skin marks very easily and takes very long to get rid of the marks. I did have the capillaries on my legs treated years ago, and though it left me bruised for a couple of months afterwards, I was pleased. What treatments are available, and what should I avoid because of being dark skinned? I really would like to find some sort of almost permanent cure for this horrible redness. Matija, where are you from ? - I live in Trieste, in Italy, near the Slovenian border. Thanks.
