Guest guest
Hi, I'm newly diagonosed with cea but it wasn't found by a dermitologist, it was found by my Opthimologist. A couple of months ago I was diagnosed with Dot Map Fingerprint Dystrophy, where the " glue " on the cornea in the eye starts sluffing off causing much pain and blurred vision. I was treated and my symptoms sort of went away, but I still had some discomfort. I had to return to the eye doctor a couple of weeks ago with the same problem. He then looked at my face and asked if I had cea. I didn't know, I always had a red face and some breakouts but never thought about it. He said that he recently went to a lecture that mentioned treatments for rosacea have also helped with this Dot Map Fingerprint Dystrophy. Maybe there is a link? I've been reading this site and learned about ocular cea. Has anyone else heared about this possible link between problems with the cornea and cea? I was put on Ocuflox and Prednisolone eye drops. Then also Doxycycline. In a couple of days the results were amazing! My eye was pretty much healed! The doc was very impressed because I was his first patient on this treatment. I'm off the drops now, but was told to stay on the Doxycycline for 3 months. My face cleared up, for the first time ever! How great! But... I had horrible side effects! My chest started breaking out in hives and I had bad early morning foot and leg cramps!! I literally woke up screaming in pain in the mornings. As soon as I stopped taking that anti-biotic, the cramps and breakout on my chest went away. Strange! Now I don't want my face to start breaking out again. I was looking at side effects of Doxycycline and saw that one can have skin reactions but nothing about severe leg and foot cramps. Has anyone had such reactions? I'm now going to go to a dermatologist and try other treatments for my face. For my eye I continue treatment with Muro 128 5% Ointment, at night, so that my eyelid doesn't stick to my eye during the night. Another interesting thing I read, on this site was about blood type. I am a Type A+ also.... hmmmmmm interesting.... could it all be linked? Thanks! Jo
