Guest guest
Hey all, I need a laptop computer, I hate being without my internet. Anyways, Jackie has been in the hospital since Tues. Her enzymes, liver profiles, and triglycerides (sp?) were elevated. Wednesday the lipase were even higher, after being only on iv and iv pain meds. Nothing is touching her pain, she has had shots of nubain (sp?), toradol (sp?), demerol, morphine. Nothing helping, today they put a fentanal (sp?) patch on her, at about noon. I wish I knew how long it would take to work. Been a little over 3 hours and she says still no pain relief. She gets 50 mg of demerol every 4 hours. She sits and walks, she does not sleep, maybe four 15 minute naps since she has been in the hospital. I have not slept either so I am sorry if I make no sense in this note. Well my husband just called from the hospital. I have been gone about 3 hours and JAckie has walked almost the whole time. The only way she will not cry and be histerical is to be walking. When her battery on her IV goes, she paces back and forth in the room till we can unplug and go walking the halls again, and this is all night. The nurses, some of them, are actually hateful about it, one said if you would just lay down and let the medicine work. Has any of you heard this before? She was very abrupt about it. Then they say be careful, in which I am, because she is on all this medicine. But they say it kinda rude. I may be just a little on the ill side myself and taking things personally. I would appreciate ya'lls input but I do not know when I will be home. I am hoping she will be out of there in a couple days but who knows. I have really never seen her like this. I don't have the address to the hospital but the number to her room is I guess this could be normal for the pain not to be helped but I am not use to her just wanting to walk and walk...she usually wants to lay very still. I will try to come home and check my email in a day or two...I have met two people with pancreatitis at the hospital and am trying to get them to join our wonderful group.
