Guest guest
I am getting ready to start SCD for myself, my 6 yo son with ASD (suspected celiac) and his 3 yo typical brother that suffers from worse bowel issues than my ASD child. The boys have been GFCF for 2 years. I have ordered BTVC and have been reading both sites. I'm trying to decide my game plan for the intro diet. My kids eat meat but always need to dip it in a sauce like A-1 or BBQ. That will make the first few days hard in terms of food options. Soups/broths and cooked carrots are a no go. Would sugar free bacon be ok for the first intro days? I buy sides of beef and pork from a local farmer. The bacon is smoked with only salt to cure it. I was thinking I could get by the first intro days with bacon, cider or grape juice homemade popcicles and gelatin and ground beef crumbles. Not much I know. My kids are both currently on antifungals and antibiotics for yeast and bacteria overgrowth per OAT tests. My NT kid has major c.diff issues that we've been dealing with for a few months now. I want to get started shortly after they are off the meds in about 2 weeks. I can't keep giving them antibiotics, so am turning to SCD and doing my homework now. Thanks for any guidance.
