Guest guest
I just wanted to let you know that K is now feeling much better from being sick those terrible 9 long weeks. I decided against antibiotics in case it was something trying to work it's way out of her system and gave her extra probiotics. I got some acidophilus, S. Boulardii, and culturelle from Kirkmans. At first, Kali's hives I thought were due to an allergic reaction from the S. Boulardii but, it may have been a yeast rash working it's way out. Something told me to try again this week and we have had very good luck. K's bm's are consistent everyday now and she is sleeping better and really learning quickly now in school. She has blown me away by all the big girl stuff she does and says now. She has started to underline words in books with her fingers now too. She is so focused!!! Yes!!! We have more language. I have been so excited that we have been doing something new everyday just to see what she can do and say. I think when I put her on the SCD that stopped her gut from getting worse just at the right time and then even though it took a while, she started to heal. She wouldn't have been able to if we didn't pull more of the bad stuff out of our daily routine and regimen. K's teacher says she may be able to mainstream at the end of next schoolyear. It's nice to see K's ability that high! All her teachers love her and are amazed at the quick learning since she has started to feel better. Maybe most of what she had for 9 weeks was die-off.? I thought she was just sick with everything that was going around. Could've been both. But, once we treated her for the worms, the die-off was like a dominoe-effect allowing each problem to work its way out one at a time, showing different symptoms during this illness. This was definitely a regression but, we're not there anymore. There was talk at the last CSE meeting about K aging out of school where she is and her school district too. They wanted me to look into an institutional school for her an hour away from here. No way!!!! We are fighting to restore K's health and we are succeeding slowly but, if K isn't mainstreamed within 2 yrs. then, she will be homeschooled. There will be no aging out with my daughter. And, that's my case for the next CSE meeting in 2 weeks. Her one-on-one aide is with me here. This is all good and my little girl is recovering from Autism and I'm blatting about it right now but, love it all!!! This child didn't even know if I was in the room or not at school or home because she was in her own little world a year ago, nor did she evn seem to care. Now, she has woken up in a new world where we live and she is discovering new things everyday. She walked into the school and up to her classroom independently today. Opened the door and said, " Hi " and they said " oh, hi Kali, we didn't know you were here yet. " This child scored 3 means below in everything she was tested on in January 2005. She can count to 20 but, to 10 in Spanish also and knows her alphabet verbally as well as receptively. She is currently working on colors this week, green. Everything is green. She has also gone through a huge growth spurt different even than 2 weeks ago. She has not gone to a DAN! specialist even once but, purity, special friends, God and SCD have made this all possible!!
