Guest guest
Thank you for bringing that to the attention of our group. It is easy to confuse and I know you had worried about Terri for some time because few on the group seemed to be dealing with apathy. I think it may well be a part of MSA that has been overlooked. Because the system has shut down so many of the normal responses, it would not be a far stretch to assume that the normal personality response would also be shut down. Some suffer from overly sensitive responses to pain, sadness, happiness and normal family situations so it would be normal to suffer from opposite of those same things. Elmer seemed to swing more to the overly sensitive response. Sally in KS
Guest guest
Sally: The way the docs here explain it tome is that it is the ABSENCE of normal behavior non-apathetic behavior patterns as contrasted to the presence of depressive behavior patterns. I am told apathy is becoming more recognized is a feature of MSA. In other words, your sense of the situation matches what I have been told here.
