I'm curios too what your 2 year labs looked like without protein

supplementing, very few veggies (you've said those things) -- what do your

labs look like from your base line pre-op and through till now? Got actual

" numbers " ? Would you mind sharing them?

I eat mostly protein, but probably only two vegetable servings a day. One

of the reasons I try to avoid potatoes as a vegetable. Just don't have the

room. I eat nuts almost every day, but I worry about not getting fiber. I

don't know how lack of veggies would affect labs?????

I started taking a fiber supplement when I was having an upset stomach. My

regular doctor actually recommended it since he thought the whole thing

through and realized I didn't eat all that much. I actually have my first

ProScore of the day with a heaping tablespoon of orange-flavored fiber

supplement from the health food store.

Hi Dave! I am glad to hear someone else takes ProScore. I think it is a

great Protein drink. Thanks for the tip about the fiber. I have finally

started losing again. I have been eating high protein, low carbs, lots of

water, and 1 or 2 protein drinks a day. I lost 110 lbs, then gained twenty

back and now have lost 3 again. I really feel I am back on track, and since

I have been eating this way for 5 weeks now, I hardly have any cravings for

the carbs. Oh, once in a while, I am tempted to stop at a convenient store

and pick up a candy bar, but I am able to fight it, and it goes away. After

almost 3 years since the surgery (Feb 15, 2000), it is something I have to

work at every day. The protein is one of the keys I really believe. Have a

good day, ! Bobbie-Manchester, WA

I did not see the reports this year. Both my PCP and bariatric surgeon

reviewed them and both said they were excellent. My dexascan results

from earlier this month were interpreted to be equivalent to those to be

expected from some one in their 40s. I am 57. I attribute my good labs

to religiously taking the best vitamin and mineral supplement system

there is on the market.

Yeah, those are good, IF u get the dark choc and not the milk choc. But not

Hey , don't knock it until you've tried it! I frequently use diet

orange soda and CHOCOLATE ProScore 100 to make a shake. It is FANTASTIC!!!

If you've ever eaten one of those chocolate oranges, it's sort of like that.

They make those chocolate covered jellies sugar free you know? I love them

too, so I try to stay away from them because of what the s/f candy does to

me. Sometimes the side effects are just NOT worth the candy. :)

Dear Randy and all,

I believe what Judy was aiming at was Ray's statement that I

asterisked below, not his freedom to speak about protein. Remember

what we just came through when we were asked not to hawk our

personal products in this forum? And that is just what I think she

thought he was doing by bragging that his current state of health

(sans protein supps) was due only to religiously taking the

bariatricsupplements.com products that follow his signature.

Please correct me if I am wrong, the difference seems to be his

moving from a BTDT perspective to one of specific product

recommendation/exclusion for our health.

Oh I didn't even pay attention to that..... Sorry if I mistakenly jumped to

a conclusion... If he's tryin to " hawk his wears " he's not doin' a very good

job at it, cause I didn't even notice it....

BTW: I attribute my good labs to my protein shakes, calcium citrate powder,

One Source Chewable's and lot's of Diet Dr. Pepper.....

I have a question for you.. since you state that you dont need protein

supplementation, or drink water.. how in the world do you get your digestive

system to function even minutely?

I tried it by accident. I have my little routine, water in this hand, ice

in this hand, Don's orange soda here, and I put the water in my PS100, then

ice, then put it in the glass, then add Don's van to my choc mixing cup, add

pop & go. I do it many times a day.

One time, phone rang or something and I put the orange in my PS100 choc

!!!!!!!!! Nasty! Ewww, Yuckers! Save me!

I made Don drink it. He thought it not half bad. LOL! And that's why he

likes his creamsicle made in my chocolate leavings.

Uh, oh. They must have sorbitol or maltitol or some such as sweeteners. They

did a real number on me too, back in '89 when I quit smoking and lived of s/f

One of the guidelines of the group is not to push, hype, advertise, etc. any

particular product over another. He pushes BSSI. And consistently tries to

why.
